New Beginnings

Okay so I cancelled my previous challenge and then I got fat. British National Health Service (NHS) guidelines say I'm in the "Obese II" bracket and there aint no bracket above that one. So:

"Each day is a new life to a wise man"

Is what I always say and today I jogged 5.3km in 52 mins without stopping which pleased me :) Now I'm going to give a training schedule that I took from this book a go again:

The Non-Runner's Marathon Trainer by David A.Whitsett and Forrest A.Dolgener

The schedule takes a 5km jogger into Marathon (~40km) territory over 16 weeks by doing 4 runs per week. Last time I tried this I followed the textbook for about 8 weeks and then did my own thing, hopefully this time I'll stick with it to it's conclusion and obtain a healthier weight along the way. Here's my schedule with all distances given in miles. A Marathon is 26.2 miles.

Skippy

Have you met Skippy yet?

Now you have!

This is my Mountain Bike that I rescued from the local dump. I'm tinkering with the last couple of modifications at the moment but it won't be long until she's on the road!
